New & Exciting At The Studio

New-To-Nia classes in January 2010

Taught by the YNFL Nia team ~ Maria Skinner, Robyn Maltz, Allison Wright and Ana Ayvazian

Dates:
Wednesdays, January 6th and January 13th at 9:00-10:00am
Sundays, January 17th and January 24th at 12:15-1:15pm

Fee: $15 for one class, $28 for two and $35 for three.

Although you can begin your Nia practice with any of our classes, these classes are geared to those new to the form. We will break down some of the moves and focus on how the form and freedom of Nia can help you become more fit and have a more joyful relationship with and in your body. Great for gifting to those you want to turn on to Nia!

Alice Heller~ African Dance

7:15 - 8:45pm

Nia White Belt Training 2010 at Yoga & Nia For Life

White Belt Training with Casey Bernstein, Nia White Belt and Trainer

This training takes place over two long weekends: Nov. 5-8th and 13-15th. Full day intensive is only for trainees, however you can take Casey's Open classes which last about an hour (though she has been known to go over...)

Nia White Belt Intensive Training is the first step on the Nia Training path. All Nia training is highly interactive and delivers foundational principles through both cognitive and experiential learning models. Upon completion of the Nia White Belt Intensive Training, you are eligible to license as a Nia Teacher .

What can I expect to learn during the training?

  • The Body's Way Education Model

  • Sensory IQ, movement integration, and functional fitness techniques

  • Movement dynamics, body-mind physiology, and X-Ray Anatomy concepts

  • Nia's 13 Principles, which includes our unique choreography and music notation system

  • Somatic teaching techniques

What is included in the Nia Intensive?

  • 40+ hours of cognitive and experiential training instruction

  • ACE (4.7 CEC's) & AFAA (38 CEU's) credits with approved provider

  • Training course materials

  • White Belt Intensive Manual

  • Practical application of concepts and techniques

  • Graduation celebration

  • A Certificate of Completion and the option to become a Licensed Teacher

  • Individualized assessment and feedback
