New Wednesday Classes

Ana Ayvazian ~ Gentle Nia Technique

For those who want to move experience Nia in a more gentle way. Build muscle strength and joint mobility slowly. Slowly acclimate and adjust to Nia movement. Enjoy being a beginner!-Move through levels with an emphasis on mastering level one. Learn to listen to your body and move in a smooth, relaxed way. Express your unique rhythm and be emotionally expressive. .

New Thursday Classes

Mike Klinger ~ Martial Dance

12:00 - 1:30pm
This group is for movers, dancers, and martial artists who want to explore the use of power and flexibility from an "inside out" orientation. The work is around the release of muscular tension and ‘over’ reaction to cultivate more power and grace. The form combines the practices of Feldenkrais Movement, Aikido and Contact Improvisation. The dynamics include resisting/releasing, centering/falling, leading/following, pushing/pulling, stillness/flow. The classes begins with Feldenkrais exercises. From skeletal movements, breath and partner work—movement progresses to partner work using weight, power and direction. The ongoing focus will be on the contact point, skeletal movement and energy transfer. Begins Jan 10th!

Don Ethan Miller ~Deep Tai Chi and Push Hands

7:15 - 8:45 pm - Deep Tai Chi
For Tai Chi players with at least 3-5 years experience who wish to go beyond the surface of the art. We will explore root, energy, sacred postures, jings, and emptiness. Call 781-956-4170 (cell phone) for more info and class fee.

8:45 - 10:15pm - Tai Chi Push Hands and Internal Martial Arts
Takes the virtues and qualities of solo work into the 2-person encounter. We will play many varieties of Tui Shou (pushing hands)--a game of balance, power, and sensitivity--and extend our internal work into self-defense/ combat skills. Open by permission of instructor.
