Nia 5 Stages Class
This class is dedicated to self-healing, it’s dedicated to Your Body, and it’s dedicated to using five movements as stimulation that not only provide healing to the body, and what we mean by healing or self-healing is doing something that allows you to feel better in your body. So it’s not about waiting for the big bang effect of, “Oh, I feel better.” It’s really learning to sense the small, little incremental changes that can occur when we consciously pay attention to sensation in the body, and when we consciously begin to notice those things that just don’t make us feel so good, and then we do something. Doing is really about allowing the body to show you what is the path, the path to healing. What you’re going to do, is go through five movements that your body knows how to do, these five movements are actually coded in your body, you went through them in order to stand up and walk.
The class is divided into two parts. The first part is dedicated to you and your body, that’s why we call it Your Body’s Way Practice. You’ll move, you’ll go through these five movements and I will not interfere at all, my language will be your guide. The second part is The Body’s Way Practice, and that’s where we focus on something that’s very unique to the body – it can be a body part, it can be a concept, and today we’re focusing (each class will be different) Put those two parts of class together and what happens is you get great body education and you also have a practice that you can do, on your own, in five minutes a day to help yourself feel better.
